Superior Notary Services Testimonials Verified by Proven Credible

St. Paul, Texas, July 07, 2015 — /EPR LAW NEWS/ — Superior Notary Services, one of the largest and best known notary service firm in the U.S., announced today that their customer testimonials have been approved by Proven Credible, a noted third-party verification service. Superior now joins the ranks of the many other firms that have used the Proven Credible system to verify that the testimonials posted by their clients are genuine.

“Having our client testimonials verified by a third-party service such as Proven Credible is a tremendous asset to our firm,” said Clay Mason, president and CEO of Superior Notary Services. “Proven Credible was the ideal way for our firm to present real, substantiated customer feedback to our clients because anyone can post glowing reviews on their website, but how many of them are credible?” Mason then added, “Our clients count on the convenience, efficiency and effectiveness of our services and the professionalism of our agents and support staff. With Proven Credible verifying our client testimonials, they can be sure that the service we promise is the service we deliver every day.”

Proven Credible is an independent, third-party verification service that reviews and researches all of the testimonials submitted by a business before giving them the Proven Credible stamp of approval – their “Verified” check mark. “The thing that we really like about Proven Credible versus other, similar services is that all reviews submitted to them are checked by real people, human beings who make sure that the source and comments about every company are 100% true,” said Mason.

Superior Notary Services has been in operation since 2000, at which time the firm launched one the first mobile notary signing services in the U.S. Since then the company has expanded to meet the growing demand for their convenient, professional services. The company recently moved to their new headquarters in St. Paul, Texas and has created and nationwide network of traveling notary signing agents. Their system, which is based on providing essential notary services that are convenient for everyone from individuals to professional clients, completely changed the landscape of the notary service industry.

Superior is now one of the industry leaders in mobile notary services, filling an important need in the business by eliminating the aggravation that is often involved in finding and scheduling a notary. Superior Notary gives their clients what they want, where they want it, and when they want it. And now, with the approval of their client testimonials by Proven Credible, anyone using Superior Notary Services will know that they can count on the same level of professionalism and quality of service that is noted throughout their impressive company reviews.

About Superior Notary Services: Superior Notary Services, the St. Paul, Texas notary public firm, was established in 2000 as one of the first “mobile notary service” in the industry. Superior Notary Services offers corporate notary services that travel to the client’s location at a time of their choosing. New Lawyer for the Alleged Ukrainian Child Porn Tycoon

Maksym Shynkarenko, who has been charged with 32 counts of advertising child “adult content” to child exploitation enterprise and money laundering, has retained the Bukh Law Firm, P.C. of New York as his criminal defense counsel in his upcoming trial. He was arrested in Thailand in 2009 and had been fighting extradition to the United States since that time. Mr. Shynkarenko was extradited from Thailand earlier this summer (June 2012) and was allowed by the court to have time to prepare for trial in the Federal Court.

The investigation of the 33-year-old Ukrainian and his alleged child pornography network by U.S. investigators has claimed 560 child pornography convictions across the country since it first began. Mr. Shynkarenko was indicted in New Jersey (case #2:2008-cr-00625) as that is where U.S. investigators first uncovered his alleged website on the computer of a New Jersey resident which was then shut down in 2005. The trial will take place in the U.S. District Court in that jurisdiction.

Mr. Shynkarenko is a native of Kharkov, Ukraine and the indictment has charged him as running a worldwide network of several child pornography sites with two co-conspirators, one from the Ukraine and one from Russia. While this is alleged to be a very profitable enterprise for all involved, Mr. Shynkarenko was granted the services of a public defender by the Judge at the time of his indictment. He is now represented by federal criminal defense attorney, Arkady Bukh.

At the time of the hearing after his extradition, the Associated Press reported that a spokesman for Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry stated that detectives had found absolutely no evidence that Mr. Shynkarenko had committed a crime and they are concerned about the “rights of our citizen”. The Shynkarenko family is very concerned and they do presume him innocent. Ukranian officials are quite concerned about this case as they feel that U.S. prosecutors have a poor reputation regarding the rights of their citizens. If convicted, Maksym Shynarenko could face up to 20 years in prison on each count.

U.S. District Court Judge William H. Walls has set the pre-trial conference in this case to March 26, 2013. The Bukh Law Firm, P.C. has several criminal defense attorneys experienced in the defense of this type of case in Federal Court.

Darlingtons Solicitors on the Rocketlawyer panel of law firms

As reported in today’s legal press, Rocketlawyer, an established US legal documents and services brand, will be launching later this month in the UK.

In addition to offering a range of interactive online legal documents at a very competitive price, the company will also have a small number of selected panel solicitors who will assist with content for the Rocketlawyer website and will offer additional services to Rocketlawyer customers.

The fact that law firms will be working closely with Rocketlawyer means that a customer who wants to use one of the documents on the site and has completed most of the document but still has follow up questions or unusual requirements, will have access to expert, discounted legal advice.

Darlingtons Solicitors are delighted to announce that they are 1 of the 20 initial panel member firms.

As part of the discussions and criteria for panel membership, a law firm needs to satisfy Rocketlawyer that it has the right attitude to dealing with online legal customers, who expect not only high quality legal advice but excellent service. Firms must also demonstrate that they are active online and fully embrace the importance of the internet for the future of legal services.

The discussions between Darlingtons and Rocketlawyer did not take long to result in fruition. Both parties recognised that they have much in common and a very similar outlook.

James Swede, Managing Partner of Darlingtons comments, “As soon as I saw that Rocketlawyer were entering into the UK market I was interested in talking with them. I met with Mark Edwards of Rocketlawyer just a few days later, and it only took an hour over a coffee to quickly realise that they are the type of people we like doing business with and vice versa. Our online presence is very important to us and we recognise that there is big market for using online applications to make law easier and more cost effective. Our services will compliment and enhance the interactive documents provide by Rocketlawyer and in my view, any firm which sees interactive legal documents as a threat has a mistaken and shortsighted approach. Not only that but they will be swimming against a very strong tide”

The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin is proud to present ProductsThatHurt.com – a website dedicated to informing consumers of the dangerous side effects and recalls of various defective drugs and medical devices in the United States.

ProductsThatHurt.com is hosted by the NC defective products lawyer team at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, and it provides information about recalls and the serious side effects of many dangerous drugs and medical devices –some that are still currently on the market. Visitors can stay current on the latest information about these dangerous drugs and medical devices through up-to-date blogs and can post comments and questions about their concerns.

ProductsThatHurt.com has been divided into distinct categories to make the website easier to navigate:

The site will feature frequently updated blogs about these categories and the various recalls of defective drugs and medical devices that affect consumers in North Carolina and throughout the United States. Through these blog posts and in-depth informative articles, readers can leave the website feeling better informed and updated about the various risks of dangerous drugs and medical devices that they may be taking or that may be suggested as a course of treatment by their doctors. Ultimately, the website will be a place for readers to educate themselves about recalls and potential dangers, while also providing them resources for getting legal help if they need it.

“There are many prescription drugs and medical devices on the market that are being promoted to help patients but that are actually proving to be quite harmful and to cause even more serious health problems in some cases,” said President James S. Farrin. “We want to give consumers the information they need about these defective products. We are also here to offer them the legal protection they may need if they feel that they have suffered serious side effects as a result of these dangerous products.”

Western European Study Highlights Key Selection and Retention Factors Used by In-House Counsel

LexisNexis (www.lexisnexis.com), a leading provider of content and technology solutions, today announced results from the latest LexisNexis® Martindale-Hubbell® study on law firm and client relationships in Western Europe. The report, ‘The Selection and Retention of Law Firms in Western Europe’, reinforced the view that in initial selection processes, in-house counsel want their law firms to understand their business needs, objectives and culture, whereas the quality of the team overall has the most weight in determining whether firms are retained.

Conducted during January and February 2012 in association with The Global Legal Post, the survey reflects the views of 219 in-house counsel across 16 Western European countries, half of which have revenues of at least €1.3 billion.

The top five factors that in-house counsel use in the selection and re-hiring of law firms are:

Selection Factors (% of respondents, rated ‘very important’)
Understanding of business needs, objectives and culture (72%)
Speed of response (56%)
Client service/responsiveness/communication (56%)
Lawyer expertise (54%)
Trusted advisor and not just a legal technician (51%)

Retention Factors (% of respondents)
Quality of the team (80%)
Knowledge of my business (76%)
Cost (71%)
Approach to matter at hand (66%)
Lawyer expertise (62%)

The most important factor – by no means a surprise – is understanding the client’s business needs, with 72% of respondents rating this as ‘very important’. Speedy response times, client service and communication skills and expertise and reputation of the individual lawyer are regarded as the next group of favoured attributes. Interestingly, cost is not a key factor in initial selection processes.

Common ‘magic ingredients’ of relationships are dedication and chemistry, alongside expertise, quality of ability/competence and cost/fees. Proficiency in business and legal skills alone are only part of the picture. The ‘people buy people’ adage is borne out in the results, with over one in four companies prioritizing this factor on their list of requirements, whilst one in two want a trusted advisor.

“These trends in selection and retention factors are consistent with similar surveys that we have undertaken in other world regions,” Derek Benton, director of International Operations at Martindale-Hubbell commented.

“From a business development perspective, the message is simple. To get noticed in the identification and selection stages – whether communicating via their own or third party website, blogs, articles, social media or tender documents – firms need to engage buyers by firstly showing that they understand their sector and how that impacts their day-to-day business.”

Law firms also need to focus on building their relationships with the Chief Legal Officer (CLO), as over two-thirds of respondents state CLOs had primary responsibility for making decisions to appointment firms. Surprisingly, procurement departments are only involved in appointing firms for one in 20 companies surveyed.

Getting on panels seems to be a key objective for many law firms, but surprisingly the survey finds that 72% do not use law firm panels and, of these, 78% are not planning to put a panel in place. If a firm has not made it onto a panel, the findings suggest that they are not excluded indefinitely from selection as panels tend to be reviewed every two or three years.

When asked what factors would lead a law firm to be selected for a second time, respondents cite the quality of the team as a whole (80%), followed by their knowledge of the business (76%) and cost/approach to billing (71%). Overall standard of service remains critical, as poor service is the fastest route to being removed from a preferred list, according to 93% of survey respondents. Firms still need to keep an eye on costs, and ‘unfair or unclear billing’ can lead to relationships being terminated. Indeed, achieving better value for money has been the main driver to review panel firms in recent years.

Nevertheless, most law firms are seen as being sensitive to the budgetary pressures of legal departments (60%) and offer value-added services, with free training topping the list. However, the survey suggests they need to do more to listen and learn from feedback. Nearly all surveyed (93%) said they would be willing to participate in formal client satisfaction surveys, yet only half have actually been asked to participate.

The biggest challenges facing in-house lawyers in the next year are cost control, (62%), increased workload (52%) and litigation/risk managements (44%). The research shows mixed fortunes ahead for law firms with 20% of companies decreasing legal budgets, whilst 22% expected to increase spend.

NC Workers’ Compensation Attorney Ryan Bliss Joins the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin

The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin is pleased to welcome NC Workers’ Compensation Attorney Ryan Bliss to the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department.

Bliss has experience working on both sides of the Workers’ Compensation law, having worked on the defense side prior to joining the firm. In addition to Workers’ Compensation, Bliss’ experience in law encompasses several areas including family law, real estate, trust and estates.

Bliss enjoys working on the side of the law that helps injured NC workers because he values the relationships that develop. Bliss is able to develop strong, meaningful relationships with his clients while helping them navigate the complicated Workers’ Compensation system.

“It is important to me to represent people who are most affected by an injury from simply doing their job,” said NC Workers’ Compensation Attorney Ryan Bliss. “Representing faceless companies with lots of red tape on the defense side was not the reason I became a lawyer.”

Bliss received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree in English from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, where he graduated magna cum laude.

“I’m proud to be part of a team with such a great reputation in helping injured NC workers,” Bliss said.

Bliss joins a team of 5 other NC Workers’ Compensation Attorneys who have a wealth of experience helping injured workers in North Carolina. Several have experience on both the defense and plaintiff’s side of Workers’ Compensation law. In addition, the Workers’ Compensation team includes a former Deputy Commissioner and a former Special Deputy Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission . The Workers’ Compensation department also has three attorneys who are North Carolina Board Certified Specialists in Workers’ Compensation law.

BlueStar Case Solutions Develops EDD Toolkit E-Discovery App

Chicago based litigation support services provider launches free e-discovery calculator application for smartphones.

BlueStar Case Solutions, Inc. (BlueStar), a litigation support services provider and consultancy, recently launched EDD Toolkit, a free e-discovery application (app) for smartphones. The app features a Cost Estimator, Time Estimator, Conversion Table and Glossary for common e-discovery questions with regards to ESI (electronically stored information) processing, document review and production. The EDD Toolkit e-discovery app is a useful application for attorneys, paralegals, in-house counsel and litigation support staff who quickly need answers about a particular e-discovery project.

“We are very excited about all the positive reviews we have gotten so far, including the enthusiastic comments we received last week at LegalTech New York,” says Desiree Salomon, BlueStar’s Marketing Manager. “It’s the ultimate e-discovery ‘cheat sheet.’”

The EDD Toolkit provides valuable reference resources and quickly estimates how much e-discovery may cost and how long the process may take. Along with a glossary of terms and a data-to-documents or pages conversion calculator, the application is quickly becoming an essential tool for the e-discovery practitioner.

EDD Toolkit e-discovery app’s full list of features includes:

Cost Estimator
E-Discovery, and the costs associated with it are a large portion of a client’s litigation spend. Using industry averages, BlueStar’s EDD Toolkit Cost Estimator estimates how much a user defined amount of data or number of documents for review could cost.

Time Estimator
The Time Estimator will estimate how long the ESI processing and review steps may take in litigation, and also has the ability to calculate how long it can take to scan paper documents into an electronic format.

Conversion Table
The Conversion Table calculates how many documents or pages may be found in a user defined amount of data. Broken down by common email and document formats, the user can easily estimate how much data exists in a tangible measurement, by the number of documents or pages.

Glossary
E-Discovery terminology and jargon can be perplexing to paralegals, attorneys, and anyone involved in litigation support, therefore the Glossary feature provides definitions for most common e-discovery related terms via a quickly accessible interface.

The EDD Toolkit is currently available for iPhone and Android, while BlackBerry and Windows 7 versions are scheduled for release later this month. To learn more or to download the EDD Toolkit app for free visit: http://www.bluestarcs.com/resources/app-support.

To enter the contest, users were asked to provide feedback on Quigal.com’s website, to join Quigal.com’s Facebook page, or to follow Quigal.com on Twitter. One entrant was randomly chosen to win an Amazon Kindle.

The feedback Quigal.com received in response to the sweepstakes was overwhelmingly positive. Here is a sample:

•  “I think Quigal is very easy to use. I hope it becomes more popular. These sites are sometimes very confusing.”
•  “What a great concept for a website! Looking in the phone book for a lawyer is very daunting; there are so many of them and it’s hard to navigate.”
•  “I’m happy to see that there are so many attorneys listed in my area! I’m glad to know about this great resource.”
•  “I think this is a wonderful website that is very useful. I’ve shared the website with my family and friends.”

Quigal.com, the National Attorney Search Website, Has Been Featured On KillerStartUps.com

Quigal.com simplifies online attorney searches according to KillerStartUps.com, a user-driven internet start-up community.

Quigal.com, the National Attorney Search Website, Has Been Featured On KillerStartUps.com

Quigal.com is a leading provider of online attorney search services in the United States. The site allows users to search for attorneys who have impressive legal backgrounds and allows users to communicate with multiple attorneys quickly and easily.

The reviewers said this about Quigal’s service: “The main asset of Quigal is that it does not produce an endless list of legal professionals when you execute a search. Rather, it provides you with some top names only. Instead of giving you several pages to browse through, Quigal will show only one page of results, and that page will never feature more than 10 different attorneys for you to consider. In this way, one of the trickiest aspects of the whole process (IE, pre-selecting those legal representatives that are effectively a cut above the rest) is taken care of for you.

This specificity is further strengthened by the ability to select the legal area that you are keen on searching f r o m the very beginning – you will be allowed to circumscribe your search to Business, Civil or Criminal Law.”

Schillings Recommend Key Changes To Privacy And Reputation Protection

Schillings, the leading law firm protecting the privacy and reputations of businesses and high-profile individuals, has released the findings of its recent research entitled – ‘A private life in the public eye’. The research report sets out a ‘Blueprint for change’ to help people protect their privacy and reputation without compromising the vital principle of freedom of expression. The launch of the report coincides with the Government’s DCMS Select Committee’s comprehensive report into Press Standards, Privacy and Libel.

Schillings Recommend Key Changes To Privacy And Reputation Protection

The overarching aim of the research was to discover what it means to be in the public eye today and where the line should be drawn to separate the part of a person’s life that should remain private. The key areas of interest included: Attitudes towards privacy; Importance of legal measures; Due prominence of apologies; The effectiveness of the Press Complaints Commission; Dissatisfaction with press reporting; Prior notification and the future challenges facing reputation protection.

The research provides evidence that people are dissatisfied with the current position regarding reputation and privacy. The opinions of the audience presented in the report do not necessarily represent those of Schillings. An area of common ground is the view showing that whilst it is important to permit publication of matters that are genuinely in the public interest, too often reputations are damaged, and privacy invaded, by the publication of stories that are untrue, or where the main aim is to satisfy salacious curiosity about the lives of the rich and famous irrespective of the distress caused to them, their families and their friends.

Gideon Benaim, Partner at Schillings, who led the research project commented: “Schillings has been at the forefront of developing privacy law in this country and has set legal precedent providing everyone the right of protection in respect of their home life, their children and medical information, as well as other areas considered private. This means their private life should not be reported by the press unless it is truly a matter in the public interest. However, in some areas we find the media don’t make the correct distinction between ‘public interest’ and ‘of interest to the public’ which are quite different concepts.”

Schillings concluded that the aims of existing laws are sound. But in practice, they frequently fail to achieve a satisfactory balance between the public interest, the truth and privacy. The report recommends three key reforms to reputation laws under the proposal called the ‘Blueprint for change’; each of which are supported by the recommendations in the DCMS report.

– The press should have to notify people before publishing stories that will seriously invade their privacy.
– It should be easier to obtain injunctions preventing the publication of untrue allegations.
– Introduce a pre-publication system to resolve disputes.

How to Negotiate Effectively and Peacefully With the IRS

California Holistic Lawyer Duane Light counsels his clients to have compassion for any authority figure they speak with, and to approach them as a “friend in the making.” Here is an inspiring story from one of Duane’s past clients:

“I am a professional counselor.  In 2002, I had a beautiful and profound outcome with an IRS tax issue, based on an “enlightened” approach suggested to me by my friend and Holistic Attorney Duane Light. When I first spoke to Duane, I was afraid of the IRS. I had a large IRS debt that grew after a serious injury kept me from earning income for two years. I didn’t know what to do and was especially afraid of calling them.

I called Duane, and he gave me guidance to call the IRS with an open heart, honesty and compassion.  He suggested that I “treat the IRS agent as a friend in the making.”   He told me that the average job turnover in the IRS is 9 months, and that many of these individuals don’t enjoy their work. and rarely experience compassion and care from someone on the other end of the phone line.

After meditating and praying until I became calm, and when I sincerely felt that I could care for the person on the other end of the line, I made the call.  My heart was open toward the IRS agent, and I know he felt that. I was able to be friendly, direct and truthful about my financial situation.  Amazingly, the agent reclassified my debt as uncollectible!  All my dealings with the IRS since that time have been completely benign and full of good will.” S.F., Mill Valley , California

Mr. Light also recommends being organized with numbers, paperwork, and an offer that you can follow through on, so you can help the agent with his or her analysis. And, if you get the rare belligerent agent on the phone, it’s o.k. to say that something came up and that you have to go, disconnect and call back a little later – you’ll get a new agent and can start anew.

Duane Light became a holistic lawyer in 1996, limiting his practice to people who wish to invoke their highest principals and create spiritually fulfilling outcomes. Mr. Light now enjoys higher client satisfaction, and cases generally go more smoothly and more often result in win-win outcomes.

You can learn more about this effective and compassionate approach at www.PeaceInTheLaw.com. Mr. Light can be reached at Ask@PeaceInTheLaw.com or 877-275-5444.

Quigal.com Is Celebrating Its National Launch With A Sweepstakes Campaign

Quigal.com is celebrating its national launch with a sweepstakes campaign, which will award the winner an Amazon Kindle.

Quigal.com offers users the ability to search online for top-tier attorneys in their local market. “We felt that giving away a Kindle was the perfect way to launch our product nationally,” said Founder and CEO, Renate Harrison. “The Kindle is an innovative new device that is changing the way people read books and, similarly, Quigal is innovative and new and changing the way the people search for attorneys.”

The sweepstakes will run for a period of two months and participants can enter several ways: (i) by leaving feedback on Quigal’s website – Quigal employees are looking forward to reading the feedback and will consider any added features or changes visitors suggest; (ii) by becoming fans of Quigal on Facebook; and finally, (iii) by becoming followers of Quigal on Twitter.

Quigal.com is one of the first attorney search websites to make extensive use of social networking. Moreover, Quigal.com allows its attorneys to link to their own social networking sites. This is a feature that many other attorney search sites have not yet exploited. Harrison noted that, “At Quigal, we strive to run our site in a way that matches how visitors and businesses use the internet. Many businesses and professionals make use of social networking sites to promote their trade and it just seemed natural that Quigal would allow its attorneys to link to them as well.”

A Solution to Streamline Chapter 7 and 13 Bankruptcy Law Firm Operations

When a consumer is interested in filing bankruptcy, they will normally contact a bankruptcy attorney in their area or simply walk into their office with no prior appointment. The average consumer will also want to know how much it will cost to file bankruptcy, at which time the attorney must gather enough information about their financial situation to provide a reasonable quote for services. The majority of attorneys do this by providing a free initial consultation.

A Solution to Streamline Chapter 7 and 13 Bankruptcy Law Firm Operations

Unfortunately, this method is proving to be extremely unsuccessful for many Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy attorneys. For example, a small law practice in Denver, Colorado recently said that she often only coverts 2 out of 10 free consultations to actual bankruptcy clients who retain her services. This is a great loss of time and money; in fact, about 80% of it.

Another attorney in Los Angeles, California said that he spends about 25 hours of free consultations per week to average 3 new clients who pay a retainer. And still, another attorney in Phoenix, Arizona said that he is spending so much of his time with free client consultations that end up resulting in a total loss of income, that he has little time to dedicate to clients who have retained him. He is considering hiring an in-house attorney or law student but is afraid he cannot afford it right now.

Problems like these, and thousands more like them are not uncommon in the average Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy office today. However, attorneys are finding the necessity to streamline operations just to keep up with the increased workload within the bankruptcy industry itself. They no longer can afford to spend 3, 4 or more hours per day interviewing clients, only to find out they either are ineligible to file bankruptcy; or even worse, to discover there are potential problems that may cost more time for the attorney or paralegal that were not anticipated during the initial client meeting.

A Proposed Solution
The Initial Intake Form, a tool recently developed by Colorado Bankruptcy Training, is designed to enable law firms to meet these time saving goals as well as accomplish much more.

The Initial Intake Form is a 4-page form that is basically comprised of yes and no questions. This makes it very simple and fast for potential client(s) to fill out and complete either at the law firm or over the internet by accessing the law firm’s website. The information gathered from these yes and no responses is designed to be simple and fast for the attorney to interpret also. This is accomplished through the extremely detailed, 75-page Operations Manual that comes with the package.

Keith Schilling Appearing At Cambridge Union To Debate Press Freedom

Schillings, the UK law firm dedicated to protecting the reputations of international corporations, brands and high-profile individuals, will be taking part in a Cambridge Union debate on press freedom.

Keith Schilling, one of Britain’s most sought after lawyers for his work in defamation and privacy, joins Max Mosley and James Price QC to complete a line-up of experts in what promises to be a thought provoking debate on the motion – ‘This house believes the British press has too much freedom’.

Opposing the motion will be David Leigh, Investigations Editor at the Guardian, author, Tom Bower, and Alex Thomsom, Channel 4 News Correspondent.

The Cambridge Union Society is the oldest and most prestigious student debating society in the world. Founded in 1815, it has welcomed speakers from across the world and across generations. From Prime Ministers to archbishops, from generals to Presidents, the Society has hosted giants from all walks of life.

The Cambridge Union is well known for its contentious debates with high profile figures who are asked to passionately defend what they believe in. The panel open themselves to discussion with union members on contemporary issues that often reflect what’s going on in the media.

Preparing for the debate Keith Schilling said: “I am really looking forward to debating this important and topical issue, particularly in such auspicious premises. Whilst freedom of expression is fundamental to any democracy, there are insufficient checks on the media’s freedom which can result in significant and often irreparable harm.”

The debate will take place at 8pm on Thursday 21st January at the Union building in Cambridge.

About Schillings:
Schillings is one of Britain’s top media law firms dedicated to reputation protection and safeguarding the rights of international corporations and brands, high-profile business people and those in the public eye. The firm’s 25 year track-record in defamationprivacy law and copyright cases together with family law, matrimonial and commercial dispute resolution is second to none, prompting The Independent newspaper to call Schillings a “spectacularly efficient media law firm”.
